Japan in Pink Canopy | part 1

Decided to revive my blog with some updates of my travel adventures after a long while. And yes after 4 long years, I'm back in Japan since 2011. It's the right timing for a full blooming of the cherry blossom.

First stop Kyoto. The start of all Japanese cuisine and culture. From Tokyo, I took a shinkansen to kyoto using my JR pass which save alot of money on transportation cost.
Kyoto station will be the centre of town with malls, shops, gifts & tourist information centre. Just remember the shinkansen will be stop here, so its really convenience to stay around here. My Kyoto Anteroom is about 15mins walk from here. Even though the hotel provides free bicycle, I didnt really had the chance, as i was traveling out of town most of the days.

I'll be staying in a very unique hotel which blend arts into the hotel/apartment - Hotel Anteroom kyoto. I choose this hotel for the Scandinavian feel of the decor, with wooden furnishes, simple colors with a touch of contemporary look.

Well actually, I wanted to experience true Japanese Ryokan Stay but most of the guesthouse are fully booked this time of the year. So be early, very much early if you are coming during the cherry blossom period (end mar to early apr).

During these period, the weather tend to be wet and cold, so remember to bring along an umbella. Yes, my view from the room every morning.

The lobby of the hotel apartment also served as a art gallery which was really nice.

The everyday breakfast - Pita bread & wrap with soup and freshly blended juice.

Reflection of me
What made me want to visit Kyoto was the amazing old edo era feel which compare to Tokyo which are getting too modernized. And these days, the instagram photo of the spectacular Fushimi Inari Temple, Bamboo forest at Arashiyama and of course Gion area where real Geisha still continues working on their charms. Of course, Sakura was why I wanted to visit Japan during this time.

These are most likely China or Taiwanese tourist faking as a japanese in kimono.

But some real japanese wearing kimono(きもの) taking selfie with the blooming sakura too.

 To be continue....
